I know this because I am in the field of aviation. But they point the finger on that poor mechanic that have to rush the job. In April I had to defuel the tanks and inspect. What I found was shop towels around the left wing inbord sump pump covered all around. This plane is a CRJ 900 and belong to Bombardier in Montreal and is for Flight Test only,(BFTC) in Wichita KS. Imagine if you have the fuel cut at 30 000 feet alt., YOU CRUSH. I had seen tons of mistakes because of rushing the mechanics to have the plane in time it doesn't matter what. Just remember the MD80 that crashed in the Florida swamp years ago. They blame the mechanics. They cut the time for maintenance for money, they don't care for your life. Too many buttons to push though. Not exec-proof (think: user-friendly). That room has echo, anybody else hear it? Not sure if I want all participants visible on all screens at all times.
