The root of this all problems in aviation safety is the management from leads up to CEO. I know this because I am in the field of aviation. But they point the finger on that poor mechanic that have to rush the job. In April I had to defuel the tanks and inspect. What I found was shop towels around the left wing inbord sump pump covered all around. This plane is a CRJ 900 and belong to Bombardier in Montreal and is for Flight Test only,(BFTC) in Wichita KS. Imagine if you have the fuel cut at 30 000 feet alt., YOU CRUSH. I had seen tons of mistakes because of rushing the mechanics to have the plane in time it doesn't matter what. Just remember the MD80 that crashed in the Florida swamp years ago. They blame the mechanics. They cut the time for maintenance for money, they don't care for your life. Good luck for your next flight!

I THINK WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ALL THESE PLANES CRASHING IS SIMPLY THE LACK OF STAFF AND NO ONE TO TRAIN THEM PROPERLY BECAUSE OF ALL THE LAYOFFS. I WORKED AT AN AIRLINE AND THERE ARE 100'S OF CHECKS AND BALANCES THAT MUST BE DONE BEFORE A PLANE LEAVES THE GROUND. IF WE ARE FACING ALL THESE BUDGET ISSUES AND LAYOFFS, WHO'S CHECKING THE PLANES? THE ANSWER IS-----------NO ONE! I WILL DRIVE WHEREVER I NEED TO GO. IF I CAN'T DRIVE THERE, I'M NOT GOING.

iPhone-like Drag & Drop seems nice.
Too many buttons to push though.
Not exec-proof (think: user-friendly).
That room has echo, anybody else hear it?
Not sure if I want all participants visible on all screens at all times. Feels cluttered.
Good job. Considering they are two years later than the competition though.

Nice shadow on Richard's face.
Wondering if Tandberg knows how to deal with lighting issues.

Just a note: There is a difference between video conference and telepresence. In my case, Lifesize doesn't play well with my current and legacy Tandberg endpoints. Suitability will depend on your particular application...due diligence is needed before major investment.

That's OK, at least you got to see what's on the immediate horizon for video conferencing!

Ok. I take that back. Sounds like "Telepresence" has nothing to do with "presence" in SIP terms.

What does this have to do with "Presence" ? Maybe I'm missing the point but I was looking for "presence" a - la yahoo IM where people can set their "availability" and be on-hand for a call. I don't see any of the folks "setting" their presence information.

Well, that's not true because we need all the support we can get.

As far as brownie points.... It's not my intent to earn brownie points. I call it like I see it and I think it's possible that some of the players involved are a little too close to the fire to see the big picture. They're standing at the side door with the best cookies and milk on the planet but Santa's coming down the chimney. Really, Telepresence isn't about a definition, or who has the worst or best product. It's about marketing and who's going to break through. Like Kleenex. Is it really Kleenex, or Kleenex brand tissue? I'd be willing to bet Kleenex isn't the best tissue, but it's the best marketed tissue. That's my point.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your thoughts.
